Career portfolios
Teaching Portfolio
Are you thinking of applying for a teaching position?
A teaching portfolio, or pedagogical portfolio, is a compilation of your teaching qualifications. The portfolio is used for appointments of staff and promotions, as a way of assessing the pedagogical competence.
The Unit for academic teaching offers seminars on this topic, which are sometimes announced together with Junior Faculty.
Other portfolios
The Disciplinary Domain of Medicine and Pharmacy has compiled instructions for assembling portfolios for research, administration & management, and collaboration. Use them as inspiration even if you belong to other domains.
Career pathway seminar series
Intermittently, Junior Faculty organise seminar series highlighting career paths of PhD:s; tenure track, other academic or outside of academia - we try to capture as many possibilites as possible. The series are often in collaboration with the Uppsala University Postdoc Association (UUPA) and the Uppsala University Doctoral Board.
Collaborations with SULF
Junior Faculty regurarly collaborate with SULF/Uppsala to provide explanations and information on the Swedish pension and unemployment systems.
Topics covered:
- How the public and occupational pension work
- How your pension can be impacted depending on employment type, parental leave, etc.
- Need to knows if someone gets unemployed or are involuntary in between employment
- How the Swedish unemployment and benefit system works
